The funeral will be held today (Friday) at 2:00 o’clock from his late residence and 2:30 o’clock from the Marion street M.E. Church, the Rev. A.L. Golden officiating and the remains laid to rest in East Linwood cemetery. The Odd Fellows and Redmen, of which orders he was a worthy member, will have charge of the services at the cemetery. Among the relatives present for the funeral are the following: Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Hoyer, Mr. and Mrs. Harve Pilcher, Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Barrett, Mr. and Mrs. Cal Martin, all of Ida Grove; William Pilcher of Burlington, Kansas, and Mr. and Mrs. Barclay, of Madrid. Edward Hoyer was born in Boonsboro, February 15, 1866. He was a son of Peter Hoyer and Louise (Pilcher) Hoyer, both of whom are dead, the mother passing away forty years ago and the father about two years ago. The deceased grew to manhood in this locality and when a young man went west and for several years was engaged in railroading at Laramie, Wyoming. While living in the west he was united in marriage to Miss Mae Butler and to this union three children were born. The children have all passed away and about twelve years ago the mother died. He returned to Boone about fourteen years ago and have since lived on a farm northwest of the city. A few years ago he was married the second time to Miss Margaret Crowe, who survives him with two daughters, Mabel and Nora. Besides his wife and children there are left to mourn his death one brother, C.W. Hoyer of Ida Grove, I.H.Hoyer of the Fifth ward is an uncle of the deceased.
