Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Burchett died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at his home. He was born Oct. 2, 1922, in Lawrence, the son of Joseph Earl Burchett and Ollie Belle Coffman Burchett. He worked for Hercules Powder Co. from 1962 to 1973 and was a partner in Ron's Painting and Decorating. He then worked for Kansas University from August 1977 until retiring in October 1987. He married Vivian Viola Bunch on Oct. 13, 1945, in Olathe. She survives of the home. Other survivors include a son, Ronald, Topeka; two daughters, Donna Greer, Lawrence, and Lori Maudlin, Arlington, Tex.; two brothers, Paul, Lawrence, and Ralph, Olathe; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the charity of the donor's choice, and they may be sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
