Edward Vitek, son of Frank and Mary Hrstka Vitek, was born May 12, 1904. He spent all of his life in the Chelsea vicinity and attended Bellview No. 9 rural school. He was united in marriage In February, 1946 to Marguerite Enright of Tama and to this union one son was born. He was, preceded in death by his mother and one sister, Carrie. Surviving in addition to his wife are his son, Paul, 14 months old, his father and two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Anna) Nekola and Mrs. Frank (Valasta) Vesely of Chelsea and one brother, Lester Vitek, of Tama. Short funeral services were held Monday, October 8 at 9 a. m. from the Hrabak funeral home in Chelsea and at 10 a. m. at St. Mary's church in Vining. Music was provided by Mrs. Anton Kroulik and Mrs. William A. Stanek who sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," "In the Garden." Mrs. Charles Veit was the accompanist. They sang at the cemetery "Beyond the Sunset." Casket bearers were Ralph Franka, Cloyd Veit, H. A. Johnson Rudolph Cizek, John Hagerty and Leander Vitek. Burial was at the National cemetery near Vining.
