When Edwin was 10 months old, his father passed away. At first they lived in a small town in Lynn County, then known as Western. His father was a quaker minister. When Edwin was 10 months old, his father passed away. At first they lived in a small town in Lynn County, then known as Western. They lived there until 1876 when they moved to Ida Grove to make their home. For a few years they lived in Ida Grove and then they started farming northeast of town. After farming a few years, they moved to Arthur where he was employed in the general store of John Love. In the early 1890s, he started in the general merchandise business in Arthur. He married Emma L. Shoop on Dec. 19, 1895, dau. of George and Elizabeth Shoop, pioneer residents of Arthur. They had 6 children with 5 surviving: Floyd E. Page of Denison; Bernice, Mrs. Charles Preston, Yale, S.D.; Ray who passed away in 1919; Pearl, Mrs. Wallace A. Rogers; and Ruby, Mrs. James Bennett; and Mary, Mrs. Dwight Garner of Ida Grove. His wife died Feb. 17, 1938. He continued in the mercantile business at Arthur until the store burned in 1901. Then he operated a meat market and in 1906, moved with his family to Ida Grove where they lived until the spring of 1907, when they moved to a farm just east of Ida Grove, which he purchased and improved. He lived there for 30 years until the spring of 1937. Page and lived at St. Charles, Minn. They had nine children. Charles L. Page died when their youngest child was ten months old and was a Quaker minister. Mary Sinclair Page moved with her children to a small town in Linn county, then known as Western. They lived at this place until the youngest child was 12 years of age and this date was August 1876. For a few years, Mary and the youngest son, Edwin lived in Ida Gove and started farming northeast of town. After farming a number of years, they moved to Arthur, where Edwin was employed in the general store of John Love. In the early 1890's Edwin started in the general merchandising business in Arthur. Edwin married Emma Shoop and they had six children of which five survived at his death; Floyd E. Page; Denison, Bernice, Mrs. Charles Preston, Vale, SD; Ray who passed away in 1919; Peal, Mrs. Wallace A Rogers and Rub, Mrs. James Bennett, both of Ft. Dodge; and Mary, Mrs. Dwight Garner of Ida Grove. Mary Sinclair Page is buried in Ida Grove Cemetery Section 6, Row 4 north to south. Next to Mary is her son Edwin and his wife. Father: Rev.
