Again the Reaper of Death with its relentless hand has entered our midst and borne from us one of our strongest, healthiest boys, little Elbert Deck. Elbert was a studious boy of industrious habits, fond of play and study and will be greatly missed in the home where the parents have been called upon to suffer a double bereavement, and in the school where he was beloved by teacher and schoolmates. Again the Reaper of Death with its relentless hand has entered our midst and borne from us one of our strongest, healthiest boys, little Elbert Deck. Elbert was a studious boy of industrious habits, fond of play and study and will be greatly missed in the home where the parents have been called upon to suffer a double bereavement, and in the school where he was beloved by teacher and schoolmates. Our hearts are sad when we think that we shall no more see his pleasant face in the schoolroom or hear the merry ring of his voice upon the playground, but "God knows best, He calleth the young lambs to his fold, Before the sun sinks in the west." Gone to join thy sister, In that land beyond the sky; We shall often miss thee, Elbert, But we now must say, Goodbye. We shall miss thee, in the schoolroom, When we gather as of yore; Miss thee and the other playmates, Who've so recently gone before. Papa, mamma, how they'll miss thee, In the long, long days to come; How they'll long to hear the footsteps, Of their schoolboy coming home.
