Description	:	Stratford Courier September 24, 1896 OBITUARY Death entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Deck Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1896 and took from them, their little daughter Jessie. She had been sick but a few days and her sudden death was a terrible blow to the parents. She was born August 24, 1894, and at the time of her death was 2 years, 22 days old. The prattling tongue, the silvery laugh, The little step upon the floor; That once made music in the house, Now is hushed forever more. The vacant chair, the idle toys, The little dresses Jessie wore; The empty void in parent's hearts, Calls for their darling o'er and o'er. But God is good and well he knows, For in His book the precept's given; That if our treasure's there, our heart, Will also be drawn up to heaven. So good-bye, sweet little Jessie, May Go's grace to us be given; That we may prepare to meet you, In your blissful home in Heaven.
