Read More	McDONALD, ELEANOR—Eleanor Kinrade McDonald, daughter of William and Margaret Kinrade, was born in West Jersey, Ill., November 25, 1860. She passed away at her home in Geneva, Neb., Friday, June 13, 1947, aged 86 years, 6 months, 18 days. Her education was acquired in the public schools of Kewanee, Ill., where she was graduated as valedictorian of her class in June, 1879. A few days later she came to Nebraska to join her parents, and brothers and sisters, who had preceded her here a year before. For a number of years she taught in the rural schools of Fillmore county. February 16, 1882, she was married to Joseph McDonald, who passed away July 16, 1916. The home was established six miles east of what is now Geneva. There, by her untiring efforts, she helped to transform the barren prairie farm into a home surrounded by trees, grass, and flowers. To this home were born six children, Mrs. J.L. Fisher of Kingfisher, Okla., Mrs. Earl Axtell of York, Neb., Harold McDonald of Geneva, Clarence, who passed away in 1903, Allen, who passed away in 1920 and a son who died in infancy. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Anna Dennis of Omaha, and a brother, William Kinrade of Fairmont. Her parents, a sister and a brother are deceased. Beneath her quiet and unassuming personality was a steadfast devotion to her family, her church and her friends. During her long membership in the Geneva Congregational church, she served as teacher of the woman's class, president of the South Side aid, an assistant in the serving of the communion, always helping in any other way as long as her health permitted. Loyalty to her family was an outstanding characteristic. No child or grandchild's birthday was ever forgotten. Her life was truly a labor of love. Funeral services were conducted at the First Congregational church in Geneva at 2 p. m. Monday, June 16. Rev. David Tudor of Aurora and Rev. Isaac Cassel officiated. Mrs. J. W. Hammond and Mrs. W. H. Hinkle sang, "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Sometime We'll Understand." Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. Relatives present from a distance included Mrs. J. L. Fisher of Kingfisher, Okla., Mrs. P. L. Vlach of Sugar City, Col., Mrs. George Vlach and children of St. Paul, Neb., Mrs. Anna Dennis and Mrs. Lee Davis of Omaha.
