Description	:	McDONALD, HAROLD WAYNE—Harold Wayne McDonald, son of Joseph and Eleanor McDonald, was born July 21, 1902, six mile east of Geneva, where he farmed for much of his life. He passed away at his home in Geneva, January 14, 1970, at the age of 67 years, 5 months and 24 days. Mr. McDonald died unexpectedly in the yard at his home in the morning. Read More	McDONALD, HAROLD WAYNE—Harold Wayne McDonald, son of Joseph and Eleanor McDonald, was born July 21, 1902, six mile east of Geneva, where he farmed for much of his life. He passed away at his home in Geneva, January 14, 1970, at the age of 67 years, 5 months and 24 days. Mr. McDonald died unexpectedly in the yard at his home in the morning. Death was due to a heart attack. He graduated from Geneva high school in 1920, and then attended York College for a while. Then he worked at the Geneva State Bank for eight years. December 29, 1927, he was married to Pearl Winifred Walker. To this union one son and two daughters were born, Eleanor Elizabeth, Richard Harold and Martha Kay. Mrs. Pearl McDonald passed away March 10, 1953. Harold farmed for some years in the Chelsea community. He operated the Skelly filling station in Geneva for several years. Also he had worked at the Hill Oil Company for some time, being employed there at the present time. He was married to Mrs. Mildred Fisher of Geneva August 4, 1957. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Allen and Clarence; and a sister Mrs. Bertha Fisher. He is survived by his wife Mildred, three children, Mrs. Virgil (Eleanor) Kohler of Geneva, Richard of York and Martha McDonald of Council Bluffs, Ia.; three step-daughters, Mrs. Norma Lee Christiancy of Strang, Mrs. Sidney (Delores) Atwood of York and Mrs. Joann Steider of Geneva; eight grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Esther Axtell of York; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the Kritner-Farmer funeral home in Geneva at 2 p. m. Saturday, January 17. Rev. Paul W. Walker officiated. Sheldon Johnson sang “How Great Thou Art” and “Beyond the Sunset.” Mrs. Sheldon Johnson was accompanist. Pallbearers were Myron Carlson, Willard Havel, Ralph Hughes, Millard Podlesak, Jack Slocum and Melvin Whiteley. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
