Read More	CLARSHOLM LOCAL PRESS Claresholm, Alberta, Thursday, March 19th 1942 MRS ELLEN HAIG DIES IN LETHBRIDGE (Lethbridge Herald) Following a few days illness, Mrs Ellen Haig, aged 79, died at St Michael's Hospital early Tuesday morning. A former resident of Claresholm, she was the mother of Dr. A.A. Haig, Dr W.R, Haig, T.R. Haig, all of Lethbridge, and aunt of Mrs H.S. Gibson and Mrs J.J. Bradford of this city. She was predeceased by her husband, Thos M Haig in 1911 anda son, Bruce, in 1915, also three children who died in infancy. Besides her sons, Mrs Haig is survived by a sister, Mrs Dan McKenzie, of Guelph, Ontario and seven grandchildren. Born in Mildmay, Bruce County, Ontario, the deceased was married to Thomas M Haig in 1889 at Devils Lake, North Dakota, where she was residing at the time. They moved to Claresholm, Alberta in 1902, where Mrs Haig resided until 1920 after which she spent four years in Edmonton and four years in Montreal while her sons attended university. She came to Lethbridge in 1928, living here up until the time of her death. Funeral services were held at Martin Brothers chapel on Thursday afternoon at two o'clock and burial was made in the family plot at Claresholm, Martin Bros had charge of funeral arrangements. Graveside services were held at Claresholm Cemetery this Thursday afternoon with many old acquaintances present to pay their final tributes of respect. Rev R.W. Dalgleish took the services and Rev Dr Pritchard accompanied the funeral cortege up from Lethbridge. The pallbearers locally were T.C. Milnes, L.D. Clark, C.M. Strangways, C.J. Amundsen, R.E. Moffatt and Roy Soby.
