Read More	The Dodge Criterion (Dodge, Nebraska) 06 Jun 1940, Thu Page 1 Elhard Janecek Dies Sunday In Omaha Hospital This community was shocked and saddened Tuesday evening to learn of the sudden death of Elhard Janecek, prominent farmer and township assessor, living tow miles east of Dodge. Mr. Janecek had been in failing health a few weeks and went to the St. Joseph's hospital in Omaha last week Wednesday for medical treatment. His condidtion suddenly became critical Tuesday and his family was called to his bedside and in spite of the best of medical care he passed away at nine o'clock that evening. His death was contributed to coronary thrombosis. Mr. Janecek was born on a farm near Monterey, January 8, 1884, the son of F.D. Janecek and the late Mrs. Janecek, where he spent his boyhood. On June 16, 1908 he was married at Fremont to Miss Mary Kriz and they have resided since on their farm east of Dodge. To this union were born on daughter and three sons, who with the sorrowing wife and mother survive. the daughter Milada, Mrs. Glen Beaumont of Snyder, the sons Albin of Dodge and Lumir and Floyd at home. He is also survived by three grandchildren, his aged father Mr. F.D. Janecek, one brother Steven and three sisters, Mrs. Chas. Kastl, Mrs. Vincent Kriz and Mrs. Joe Navratil of Snyder. His mother died in 1925 and a sister Calixta at the age of 22 and a brother in infancy. Mr. Janecek was vitally interested in his community and home. For many years he was a member of the Dodge and, a member of the Cemetery Board of the Bohemian National Cemetery Association and for several years caretaker. He was active in soil conservation work and was township assessor at the time of his death. Held in the highest esteem by his friends and associates for his fine sense of values and honest integrity, the community loses a valued citizen and loyal friend. Funeral services will be held at the home at 1:30 p.m, Friday with services at 2o'clock at the Bohemian National Cemetery chapel. Rev. Phillipi will conduct services and members of the Z.C.B.J. lodge to which the deceased belonged will be active pall bearers.
