Burial directed by Mayer Funeral Home was in Elmwood Cemetery. Mr Doar died at 11:30 o'clock Monday morning while en route to a local physician's office. Burial directed by Mayer Funeral Home was in Elmwood Cemetery. Mr Doar died at 11:30 o'clock Monday morning while en route to a local physician's office. Mr Doar was born in Georgetown a son of the late John Watts Doar and the late Mrs Emma Burns Doar. He graduated from Poughkeepsie business college at Poughkeepsie NY and shortly afterwards became stevedoring representative here for the Clyde Steamship company and others. He was a member of the Winyah Lodge No 40 AFM and a Shriner as well as a member of various fraternal organizations. He was a member of Prince George Winyah Protestant Episcopal Church. His wife the former Miss Minnie Detyens died a number of years ago. Surviving are two sons E Marion Doar Jr of Tappahanock Va and Major Leroy H Doar of the army at Fort Knox; two foster daughters nieces of his wife Mrs M P Duval of Richmond and Mrs E F Harrison of Nashville; a sister Mrs Eugene Welling of Charleston and five grandchildren A brother J Walter Doar of Georgetown died several months ago.
