Description	:	Eliza Etna McCuistion, daughter of J.H. and Mary J. McGuistion, was born near Bloomfield, Davis county(sic), Iowa, March 22, 1869, and departed this life at her home in Chester, Nebr., November 24, 1933, being 64 years, 8 months and 2 days of age. The early part of her life was spent on the farm and attending the public schools, and Iowa State Normal School. Later she taught several years in the state of Iowa. Read More	Eliza Etna McCuistion, daughter of J.H. and Mary J. McGuistion, was born near Bloomfield, Davis county(sic), Iowa, March 22, 1869, and departed this life at her home in Chester, Nebr., November 24, 1933, being 64 years, 8 months and 2 days of age. The early part of her life was spent on the farm and attending the public schools, and Iowa State Normal School. Later she taught several years in the state of Iowa. On April 1, 1894, she was united in marriage to M.W. Spohn, who at that time, was practicing medicine in the vicinity of Bloomfield, Iowa. In the fall of 1896, Doctor and Mrs. Spohn went to Chicago where the Doctor pursued further study in the Cook County Hospital, and in the Post Graduate School, at the Medical College. In 1897, they came to Chester, where the family home has been ever since. Three children came to bless this home: Beulah "Evans", of Ericson, Nebraska; Berenice "Wagor", and Hubert H., of Chester. Mrs. Spohn was a devoted mother also to Clara Ethel, a step-daughter, now deceased. Besides her husband and children she leaves to mourn her loss, two sisters, Mrs. Dora Noble, of Burr Oak, Kansas, and Mrs. Caroline Hendershot, of boise, Idaho. Six Grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Mrs. Spohn also found time for interests outside her home. For many years, she has been a devoted member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, in Chester, and the Chester Rebecca (sic) Lodge, the Women's Club, the W.C.T.U., and Ladies Aid Society. She followed carefully the progress of the work of the Church, and put her influence behind its entire program. "There is a day of sunny rest For every dark and troubled night; And grief may bide an evening guest, But joy shall come with early light. For God hath marked each sorrowing day, And numbered every secret tear, And heaven's long age of bliss shall pay For all His children suffer here." The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. A.K. Williams, and a large number of friends attended the services. The body was laid to rest in the Chester cemetery (sic).
