Description	:	MRS. ELIZABETH PATTERSON Miss Elizabeth Walker was born in Pickaway County, Ohio, August 1, 1826. She was married to Frank Patterson in Logan County, Ill. In the year 1842. In 1878 they came to Kansas, taking a homestead in Graham County. Five years later they moved to this locality, living on the farm now owned by Henry Stegman. In the fall of 1893 they moved to Clyde. ELIZABETH PATTERSON Miss Elizabeth Walker was born in Pickaway County, Ohio, August 1, 1826. She was married to Frank Patterson in Logan County, Ill. In the year 1842. In 1878 they came to Kansas, taking a homestead in Graham County. Five years later they moved to this locality, living on the farm now owned by Henry Stegman. In the fall of 1893 they moved to Clyde. To their union thirteen children were born, seven of whom are living. On the 19th of February of the year 1894, the husband passed away, after which the wife went to live with her son Hal, who is now in charge of a ranch belonging to Stanley Roach near Salina. She passed way at that place Tuesday February 20th after an illness of four weeks of pneumonia. The remains was brought here last evening and taken to the Jack Huffman home. Those who are left to mourn are her children: Mrs. Buoy of Ames; Mrs. Jack Huffman, of Clyde; C. G. Patterson, Colo; Ed Patterson, of Kansas City; Hal Patterson, of Salina; Mrs. Monroe Shoup, of Illinois; Mrs. Florence Shoup, of Hill City; a number of grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.. The one for whom we mourn to-day has brightened many path ways and lifted many loads from the shoulders of others. She has gone to her reward. May it be the reward of the just and her memory be a monument of good for those who are left to mourn. The funeral services were held this afternoon at the Christian church at 2 o'clock, Rev. Meyers having charge of the obsequies and the body was laid to rest beside that of her husband in Mt. Hope cemetery. —Farmers' Voice (Clyde, KS), February 22, 1912. Newspapers.com
