Read More	Obituary - Keokuk County News - July 19, 1945 - "Mrs Elizabeth Brown,.aged 90, died Saturday night at about 10:30 at her home in the west part of Sigourney following 10 weeks of illness. Up to the time of her final illness she was remarkably active and enjoyed attending meetings of various organizations of which she was a member. She was born in Johnson Co. Indiana on Feb 2 1855 and was a Daughter of David and Sarah Mullinnix. When she was 13 years old, she came with her parents to Iowa. The trip was made as far as Washington by railroad. From there they came to Sigourney by stagecoach and settled on a farm, 3 miles north of Sigourney, where she grew to womanhood. Her mother died soon after the family came to Iowa and she assumed management of the home as a young girl. On December 28 1876, she was married to Rezin Brown. who servied ni the Union Army during the Civil War. They became the parents of 8 children, three of whom preceded their mother in death, Roscoe and Orpha May, who died in infancy and Rollin , who was a victim in a highway accident in 1941. After their marraige, the Browns lived with Mrs. Browns aged parents and cared for them throughout their lives. Later they purchased a farm and continued to live there until 1918, when they moved to the home where Mrs. Brown spent the remainder of her life.. When she was 19 years old, she was united with the Baptist church and after her marraige, she and her husband affiliated with the local Methodist church, where she continued to be faithful as long as her age and health permitted. She was a member of the Rebekah lodge, was the last surviving charter member of the Womens Relief Corps, a member of the Past Presidents CLub of the WOmens Relief Corps and the Past Noble Grands club.Mrs. Brown, who was known as "Aunt Betty" to her friends, will be remembered for her keen sense of humor and wit, while her children have a heritage of courage and faith, which represented her outlook on life. The funeral service was held on Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 at the Methodist Church. Burial was in West Cemetery
