LIZZIE KARR, LONG-TIME RESIDENT , PASSES AWAY Elizabeth Belle Freeze Karr was born to William and Caroline Freeze at Kearney, Nebraska, January 5, 1889, and fell asleep in Jesus at her home in Gothenburg, March 25, 1954, at the age of 65 years, 2 months and 20 days. She was preceded in death by her husband, her father, one brother, George, and two sisters, Rosie and Ollie. When Lizzie was 16, the family moved to Gothenburg, and this has been her home ever since. In March, 1952, she united with the Seventh-Day Adventist church by baptism, and was happy in her Lord to the end. Lizzie was a hard worker and did much for those near her. Through all her suffering, she was patient and kind and found constant comfort and strength in her Saviour. She was always cheerful and even in the very last hours of live, had a smile for those about her. She leaves to mourn her mother, Mrs. William Freeze of North Platte; four sisters; Mrs. Ed Sanders of Grand Island, Mrs. James Atteberry of Norwalk, Calif., Mrs. Nels Duckworth of Denver, Mrs. Leslie Allender of North Platte; and four brothers; Robert of North Platte, Oliver of North Platte, Melvin of Alamo, Texas, and Howard of North Platte; also many other relatives and a host of friends. The funeral services were conducted from the Olesen Funeral Home to the Seventh-Day Adventist church in Gothenburg, on Sunday, March 28, at 2:00 p.m. Mrs. Herman Bratton and Miss Gwendolyn Maline sang "Be Thou Near" and "My Home Sweet Home." Elder John Hickman played "Home of the Soul" on his violin. Mrs. John Hickman was pianist Elder Hickman brought words of comfort, bringing to mind anew the promise of Christ's return to receive his own. Eugene Wilson, Chester Weber, Leslie Lind, Bryan Broadbent, Lee Larson and Oliver Karr served as pallbearers, and interment was in the Gotheburg cemetery.
