Nickles, near Jamestown, She was married twice ---------------------- Mrs. Elizabeth Roth Nickles Warmbrodt was born in Buchli, High Court, Canton Bern, Switzerland, January 16, 1839, and died June 28, 1936, at the home of her son, Wm. E. Nickles, near Jamestown aged 97 years, 5 months and 12 days. She came to this country with her parents at the age of 13 and settled in Tuscarawas county, Ohio, and was married to John Nickles June 20, 1858. They then came to this county and located on a farm 4 miles east of here. To this union 9 children were born, 4 boys and 5 girls. Three of the children preceeded her in death, Henry, Miss Rebecca and Mrs. Elizabeth Higdon. Her husband died June 25, 1890. Surviving children are Mrs. Eliza Titsworth, of Knoxville, Tenn., Mrs. Ella Fyffe, Bridgeport, Ill., Mrs. Mary Maupin, St. Louis, Sam and Robert of Boise City, Idaho; and Wm. of this community. She is survived by 9 grand children and 10 great grand children, and one half-sister, Mrs. Christ Miller of Tulsa, Okla., and a large circle of other relatives. In 1902 she married Jacob Warmbrodt Sr. of Cooper county. He died a few years later. She has made her home with her son, Wm, and family since August 1925 and was loved by the whole family. She was a very active woman and was highly esteemed. She was confirmed in the Evangelical church but in later years joined the M. E. church at Old Bethel. The funeral services were held at Grace M. E. church Tuesday afternoon by Rev. H. R. Hicks and burial was in the Concord cemetery. The Nickles family wishes to thank all their neighbors and friends for their kindness and sympathy during their hour of greif.
