Their marriage was chronicled in the Crisfield Times: Holiday Weddings HILL—WARD An affair of much interest in the society circles of lower Somerset, occurred on Thursday afternoon last, when the home of Mr. and Mrs. Noah C. Sterling, in this city, was the scene of a pretty home wedding. The contracting parties were Mr. Warren Reck Hill, and Miss Elizabeth Mae Ward, the charming daughter of Mr. L. Jas. Ward, both of Crisfield. At 3 o'clock the bride entered the parlor attended by her sister, Miss Beulah Ward, who acted as maid of honor, and the groom, attended by his best man, Mr. Roy Hesson, of Baltimore. The bridal party advanced to the alter of Palms, Ferns, Evergreens and other cut and potted flowers, where the ceremony was performed by Rev. H. S. Dulany, pastor of Asbury M. E. Church. Miss Bertie Sterling played the wedding march. The bride, a beautiful blonde, was handsomely attired in a gown of white Chiffon Taffeta, trimmed with Iris lace, carrying a lovely bouquet of pink La-France roses. The maid of honor wore a dress of white silk mull and carried a bouquet carnations. The groom and his best wore the conventional black. The Sterling home was beautifully decorated for the occasion and was lighted by tinted colored candles. Mr. Hill is one of Crisfield's most prominent young business men, being founder and manager of the large Sea Food firm of W. R. Hill & Co. Miss Ward is one of the most beautiful as well as popular society belles of Somerset. After the ceremony, a reception was held. Mr. and Mrs. Hill left on the evening boat for a tour of the north. They were the recipient of many handsome presents. The Crisfield Times, Crisfield, Maryland, Saturday, January 5, 1907, p. 7 Their marriage was also recorded in Asbury M.E. Church records: Warren R. Hill, of Crisfield, Md. married Elizabeth Mae Ward, of Lawsonia, Md. on 3 Jan 1907 at home of the bride. Rev. Henry S. Dulaney, pastor, performed the ceremony. Elizabeth and her family died of influenza in 1918.
