Read More	Stratford Courier February 10, 1921 OBITUARY Angstrom Another of the pioneer settlers of this place, Mrs. Olof Angstrom, Sr., was called to her eternal rest Saturday night, February 5, 1921, after an illness of a few weeks. Mrs. Ella Angstrom was born in Ovanåker, Hälsingland, Sweden, January 27, 1836, and had arrived at the ripe old age of 85 years, 14 days on the day of her death. On April 28, 1856 she was united in marriage to Olof Angstrom in Sweden, and with her husband and four small children she came to this country to make a home, leaving Sweden in June, 1867. The came to this community at once but moved to Moingona where they lived but a short time. Upon returning to this community they located on a farm seven miles northeast of Stratford. They lived there until twenty-eight years ago when they moved into Stratford and made this place their home until death claimed them both. The husband and father passed away September 27, 1919. Since that time she has lived alone in the home here. Deceased leaves to mourn her passing four sons and five daughters. They are: Olof F. and Peter T., both of Stratford; John Angstrom of Wilbur, Washington, Albert Angstrom of Staples, Minn.; Mrs. Milo Currey of Dallas, S.D.; Mrs. J.H. Hice of Webster City; Mrs. J. Cottington, of Ayrshire; Mrs. Albert Greeley of Webster City; Mrs. C.A. Rodine of Stratford. Two children have preceded the mother in death, one died in Sweden and the other here. She is also survived by one sister in Sweden and one living in America, twenty-three grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren, besides a host of friends. She was baptized and confirmed in Sweden and has ever since been a faithful and constant member of that church, having been a member of the local Lutheran church for more than a half century. She had known the privations and hard work of the early settler of this community and yet had always been in the very best of health until a short time ago when the ravages of a ripe old age had weakened an otherwise very hale and hearty body and she was called to her Master. Funeral services over the remains were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Lutheran church in charge of the pastor, S.P. Holmberg, and the remains laid beside those of her husband in Oakwood cemetery.
