Description	:	Olof Angstrom, son of Olof and Ellen Angstrom, was born in Helsingland, Sweden, April 12, 1858, and died Nov. 6, 1945, at his home in Stratford. At the age of 9 years he came to this country with his parents, one brother and two sisters; they settled near Stratford. Mr. Angstrom has spent his entire life in and around this community. He was indeed a "pioneer" having tilled the soil with the ox team and lived to see the sod of the prairie land that was under his farm home, turned under by the tractor. Read More	Olof Angstrom, son of Olof and Ellen Angstrom, was born in Helsingland, Sweden, April 12, 1858, and died Nov. 6, 1945, at his home in Stratford. At the age of 9 years he came to this country with his parents, one brother and two sisters; they settled near Stratford. Mr. Angstrom has spent his entire life in and around this community. He was indeed a "pioneer" having tilled the soil with the ox team and lived to see the sod of the prairie land that was under his farm home, turned under by the tractor. His familiar figure and cheery disposition will be missed by his many friends on the streets of Stratford. He leaves to mourn his departure, his faithful and loving wife, one son, Dewey, of Des Moines, and one granddaughter. Also three brothers and three sisters, John of Wilbur, Washington, Albert of Staples, Minn., Mrs. Minnie Greeley of Washington D.C., Mrs. Mary Rodine of Des Moines, Mrs. Christine Currey and Peter Angstrom of Stratford. In the summer of 1904 he was baptized and united with the Christian church at Bell's Mill, where he retained his membership. His faith in God continued firm until the end. Last rites were held Thursday afternoon in the home at 1:30 and at Calvary Methodist Church at 2 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. J.G. Waterman. The pastor used for his text words found in II Corinthians 4:18. Mrs. Harold Westrum and Mrs. Ernest Anderson sang three songs, entitled: "We're Going Down the Valley," "Jesus Lover of My Soul," and "There'll be no Disappointment in Heaven," Mrs. Ronald Bell playing the accompaniments. The remains were laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery with the following serving as casket bearers: Bert Wilson, Louis Chally, H.A. Olander, Isaac Chally, L.R. Anderson and Franklin Rose.
