Description	:	Mrs. Elma Bennett, age 82, long time resident of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, December 7, 1997, at 8:20 p.m. in the Macon Health Care Center in Macon. She had been ill for some time. Mrs. Bennett was born at Shelbyville on January 22, 1915, the daughter of the late George and Ruby Hatcher Hollenbeck. On November 27, 1935, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Bennett in Shelbyville. He preceded her in death on January 22, 1969. Survivors are a son, Larry L. Bennett of Macon; one daughter, Kitty Jo Grice of Raymore; and five grandchildren, Ryan Bennett, Kristin Bennett, Brendan Bennett, Johnny Grice and Jared Grice. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by one brother, Alvin Hollenbeck. She was a member of the Shelbyville Christian Church, PEO Chapter M at Shelbyville, and Shelby rebekah Lodge 139. Mrs. Bennett graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1933. She was a bookkeeper for North Missouri Lumber Company of Shelbyville and Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Company of Shelbina for a number of years. Visitation was held Tuesday, December 9, 1997, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 10, 1997, at 10 a.m. at the Shelbyville christian Church by Dr. Albin Covington. Burial will be in Shelby Memorial Cemetery at Shelbyville. Memorials may be made to the Shelbyville Christian Church.
