Description	:	Detroit, Kan. Graveside services for Elmer Andrew Schiller Sr., 93, Oskaloosa, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Detroit Cemetery. Cremation is planned. Mr. Schiller died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born March 24, 1909, in Junction City, the son of Arthur Henry and Mary Edith (Leckron) Schiller. He was a 1929 graduate of Abilene High School and attended Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia. Mr. Schiller died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born March 24, 1909, in Junction City, the son of Arthur Henry and Mary Edith (Leckron) Schiller. He was a 1929 graduate of Abilene High School and attended Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia. He served as a Lawrence Police officer in the 1930s and as a Douglas County undersheriff in the 1940s. He moved to the Oskaloosa area in 1966, where he was a farmer, stockman and carpenter; he ran a tool-sharpening service for many years. He was a member of Grace Reformed Church in Abilene, and a member of the Order of Demolay. He married Mary M. Roberts Hoskinson on June 6, 1970, in Oskaloosa. She survives of the home. Other survivors include a son, J.R., Oak Park, Calif.; a daughter, Jeanette Murphy, Silverdale, Wash; a stepson, Harold Hoskinson, Berryton; a stepdaughter, Jane Hoskinson, McLouth; a brother, Ivan, Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; a sister, Irene Goltz, Placerville, Calif.; five grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
