Nina is the daughter of Marcus and Diadana L. (White) Geer of Canada. She married 2nd in Plymouth, November 04, 1908, Harold Curtis Lowell. He is the son of Elihu B. and Maria F. (Curtis) Lowell. Hughes, on Saturday, September 29, by Reverend James Thompson, Elmer C. Hughes and Nina E. Geer. The Ashland Item, October 1, 1898, p5. Elmer C. Hughes, one of Ashland's well known young men, died at his home on River Street of pneumonia which brought on heart disease. Mr. Hughes had been ailing but a short time. Elmer C. Hughes was born in Ashland, July 30, 1878 in the same house in which he died. He was a member of the local Masonic lodge and was also a popular member of the Ashland Fire Department. For the past season he has been employed by the Asquam Transportation Company as pilot of the mail boat and as mail clerk. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Addie S. Hughes, an uncle Ed L. Shepard of this place, a cousin Frank F. Shepard of Denver, Colo., an aunt, Mrs. Martha Dana Shepard of Boston, besides other distant relatives. The Record Citizen, October 24, 1908.
