Description	:	Elmer John Lemke, one of five children, was born to Frank and Anna Mary Reiman Lemke March 15,1922, on a farm in the St. Stephen's community near Lawrence. He died unexpectedly Monday, Feb. 26,at the Fillmore County Hospital, Geneva,at the age of 67 years,11 months and 11 days. Read More	Elmer John Lemke, one of five children, was born to Frank and Anna Mary Reiman Lemke March 15,1922, on a farm in the St. Stephen's community near Lawrence. He died unexpectedly Monday, Feb. 26,at the Fillmore County Hospital, Geneva,at the age of 67 years,11 months and 11 days. He was born and raised in the Catholic faith and he attended District No. 35 rural school in Webster County. Nov. 22,1949, he was united in marriage to Freida Nadine Marcotte. This union was blessed with eight children. Lemke was a farmer, worked as a farm worker and was employed by Reinke Manufacturing as a welder for 14 years. He worked on old tractors and kept busy with odd jobs. Preceding him in death were his father; his wife, Freida, on Dec. 18, 1981; a daughter, Charlotte; a brother, Vincent; a sister, Evelyn Lemke; and three grandchildren, Heather Schommer, Jeromie Lemke and Jason Karst. He is survived by his mother, Anna Lemke, Superior; five sons, LeRoy of Hebron, Vincent of Milligan, Delbert of Deshler, Ronald of Superior and Frank of Geneva; two daughters, Sharon Karst of Geneva and Ann Lemke of Lincoln; two brothers, Wilford and George of Superior; five grandchildren, Chad, Kendra, Brent, Brian and Danny; and many other relatives. The funeral was Thursday, March 1, at 10:30 a.m., from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel with Father Frank Machovec officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery. Superior Express March 8, 1990.
