Description	:	Elmer R. Mears Passed Away Suddenly Saturday Elmer Reeve Mears, World War veteran of this city, died suddenly on Monday afternoon about 5 o'clock. He was stricken in the down town section of the city and was taken to his home where he soon expired. Mr. Mears was 43 years of age, and a bachelor. He was the son of the late John H. and Harriet Mears, of Crisfield. For the past twenty years he had been employed by the Tawes Ice Company where he held the position of shipping clerk. He is survived by two brothers,... Read More	Elmer R. Mears Passed Away Suddenly Saturday Elmer Reeve Mears, World War veteran of this city, died suddenly on Monday afternoon about 5 o'clock. He was stricken in the down town section of the city and was taken to his home where he soon expired. Mr. Mears was 43 years of age, and a bachelor. He was the son of the late John H. and Harriet Mears, of Crisfield. For the past twenty years he had been employed by the Tawes Ice Company where he held the position of shipping clerk. He is survived by two brothers, John T. Mears, of Crisfield, and L. H. Mears, of New Jersey, and one sister, Mrs. J. Fletcher Purnell, of Camden, N. J. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs. Gordon Mears, on First street, conducted by the Rev. J. R. Bicking, pastor of Immanuel M. E. Church, assisted by the Rev. C. M. Elderdice, pastor of Mount Pleasant M. P. Church. Pall bearers were Robert Daugherty, John Sterling, Roger Bell, Otis Ford, Melvin Purcell, William Windsor.
