Hilburn of this city, passed to her reward after several years of suffering from ill health and feebleness, Tuesday evening the 15th inst. at the home of Mrs. Bassett. Short funeral services were held at the Bassett home at 5 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. William Wyllie of St. Mark's church. The body was taken to Lake City Thursday morning, and at 4 o'clock yesterday was taken from the home of Hon. Charles A. Finley for interment in the family lot in the Lake City cemetery. The deceased lady's maiden name was Miss Elmira Perryman of Columbus, Ga. She married Mr. David Moncrief of Montgomery, Ala., and early in her married life moved to Lake City, Fla., where she reared a large family, the following members of which survive: Mrs. Charles A. Finley of Lake City, Messrs. John and Charles Moncrief of New York City, Mrs. G. W. Bassett of Palatka, Mrs. Mary M. Jones of Jacksonville and Mrs. S. J. Hilburn also of this city. Mrs. Moncrief was a devoted Christian from early life, a consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal church South, and always a devoted mother. She will be affectionately remembered by a large circle of friends in Palatka, where for a number of years, at different times, she has resided with her daughters, Mrs. Bassett and Mrs. S. J. Hilburn, and they will have the affectionate sympathy of all in their bereavement. (Palatka News Obituary dtd Friday, 18 Jun 1909.)
