She was born on Dec. 4, 1916, in Gage County, and grew up in the Wymore area where she attended country school. She was married to John Giesman on Feb. 15, 1939, at Beatrice, and they lived on a farm near Pickrell, moving to Beatrice in 1976. Giesman, 87, Beatrice, died Monday afternoon, July 5, 2004, at the Parkview Care Center in Beatrice. She was born on Dec. 4, 1916, in Gage County, and grew up in the Wymore area where she attended country school. She was married to John Giesman on Feb. 15, 1939, at Beatrice, and they lived on a farm near Pickrell, moving to Beatrice in 1976. She worked at Formfit in Beatrice for ten years, and then was a sales clerk at Bell's Western Wear in Beatrice for ten years. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Pickrell, and was involved in the Ladies Aid of the church. She was also a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and an extension club. She enjoyed bowling and playing cards. Survivors: daughter, Sharon Schoneweis and husband Delmar of Beatrice; son, Dennis Giesman of Cody, Wyo.; four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; sisters, Christina Weers of Diller, and Evalena Wenz and husband Carl of Beatrice; brother, Frank Gebhard and wife Ruth of Beatrice. She was preceded in death by her parents, Folkert and Hilka (Hinrichs) Gebhard; her husband, John (April 21, 1988), six sisters and three brothers. Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday, July 8, Christ Lutheran Church, rural Pickrell, Pastor Dave Larson officiating. Burial: Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice. Family prayer service: 9:45 a.m. Thursday, fellowship hall of the church. A memorial has been established to Christ Lutheran Church with Raymond and Anna Dorn in charge. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home, 19th and Garfield streets, Beatrice, until 9 p.m. Wednesday evening, and one hour preceding the services at the church on Thursday.
