Read More	Elsie Therese Minna Reimers (1915 - 1995) Elsie Therese Minna Reimers was born December 13, 1915, the daughter of Johann Gustav and Emma Rehmke Reimers. She died at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Wednesday, September 16, 1998 at the age of 82. Elsie was born on the family farm in Otter Creek Township, near Schleswig, Iowa. She received her education in a rural school, Otter Creek No. 3, near her home. She was baptized In Christ at Immanuel Lutheran Church, March 5, 1916, and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, March 29, 1931. After completing her education Elsie remained on the farm to help her parents with their farming affairs. In her leisure time, she loved to socialize with her friends in gatherings in Schleswig. Elsie was a life long member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig and Schleswig Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by her mother in 1947, her father in 1964; two sisters, Hilda Schau in 1983 and Anna Reimers in 1994; and one brother, John in 1984. Survivors include one sister, Lucille Ress and her husband, Emil of Manning, Iowa; and one sister-in-law, Henrietta Reimers of Charter Oak, Iowa. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 20, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Schleswig, Iowa. Rev. Merle Mahnken officiated the service and graveside rites held at the Morgan Cemetery in Schleswig. Marlene Hight provided the organ accompaniment for congregational hymns, "Yours Forever, God of Love", "Asleep In Jesus! Blessed Sleep!" and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives". Those serving as honorary pallbearers were Dan Ruser, Dorothy Ruser and Larry Clausen. Pallbearers were Dennis Gierstorf, Dennis McFarland, Kent Bornhoft, Harry Riessen, Glenn Wigg and Jerry Ernst. The family invited everyone in attendance at the service to join them in fellowship and lunch at the church, served by the Ladies Aid.
