Maw, who passed away at his home east of Lyons Tuesday morning suffering from a heart ailment. Interment was made in the Lyons Cemetery with Piper Funeral Service in charge. Elton John Maw, son of John and Laura Maw, was born at Donahue, Iowa, June 25, 1877, and passed away at his home October 31, 1950, at the age of 73 years, four months and six days. At the age of eight years the family moved to the Divide Center community where he grew to manhood. In 1898 he was united in marriage to Nellie Howell, who preceded him in death May 30, 1905. To this union were born three children, Mrs. Marie Maslonka of Macy, Ward Maw of Kearney, and Willard Maw of Lyons. On September 25, 1907, he was married to Lucy V. Babcock. During the past forty years they have resided at their farm home near Divide Center. Mr. Maw was always kind and thoughtful of everyone. He led a good useful life and will be missed by his family as well as a host of friends. He is survived by his wife, Lucy, his daughter and two sons, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and a brother, Arta of Burns, Oregon. His parents preceded him in death many years ago.
