Mrs. Maw was a good Christian woman, and was loved and respected by the entire community. Mrs. Laura Bell Maw was born July 6, 1853, in Hamilton County, Ohio, and succumbed November 25, 1923, at the age of 70 years, four months and ten days. She was united in marriage to John Elton Maw, December 8, 1873, at Winfield, Iowa. To this union four children were born, one passing away in infancy. Mr. and Mrs. Maw have resided in this community the past 38 years having moved here from Donohue, Iowa, November 2, 1884. Mrs. Maw united with the Presbyterian church at Lyons in 1896 and when the Divide Center church was organized she became a member, and was one of the charter members. She leaves to mourn her demise her husband and three children, Arta William Maw of Salem, Oregon, Elton John Maw of Lyons, and Mrs. Nels Jensen of Rosalie; one brother, Arthur Russell of DeWitt, Iowa, and 13 grandchildren.
