Read More	Obit in The Anthon Herald, 14 June 1933, page 1: The death of Lloyd Parker, well-known farmer of this vicinity, which occurred at 2:30 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Hospital at Sioux City, came as a terrific shock, as few people even were aware that he was sick. Mr. Parker became ill Sunday, June 4, and was taken to the hospital Friday evening, when his condition became serious. He steadily became worse and was conscious only at intervals. Death came to relieve his intense suffering early Monday morning. Attending physicians diagnosed his case as an unusual bone infection in the left hip, with death being caused by a blood clot which had formed in the hip, bursting and entering the lungs. Elton Lloyd Parker, youngest son of W.W. and Almira Parker, was born April 7, 1898, in Wolf Creek Township and lived in the vicinity of Anthon all the 35 years, 2 months and 5 days of his life. He received his early education in the rural schools of Woodbury County, and upon attaining manhood chose farming as his life's occupation. On February 23, 1921, Mr. Parker was married at Sioux City to Cecilia Heath, and they made their home in Miller Township, where their entire life together was spent. Five years ago they purchased a farm two and one-half miles southeast of Anthon, and this was their home when he answered the summons of death. Left to mourn his untimely demise are his widow, Cecilia Parker; two daughters, Wilma, 9, and Betty, 5, and a son, Wallace, 9; his mother, Mrs. Almira Parker; three brothers, Alvin F., and Garland D. of Anthon, and Murrie L. of Climbing Hill, three sisters, Mrs. Seba Smith of Correctionville and Mrs. Mabel Beeson and Miss Violet Parker of Anthon. A son, Charley B. died at the age of fifteen months; Mr. Parker's father died March 22, 1922, and a brother, George, and two sisters, Chloe and Opal Parker, also preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today in the Parker home, the Rev. Watson Herrold officiating. Interment, under direction of Hudgel's Funeral Service, was in Oak Hill Cemetery beside his son. Pallbearers were Roy Pitkin, N.H. Nielsen, George Luckel, Jr., Harry Florke, Orin McCain and John Stock. Mr. Parker was an industrious farmer and a kind and loving husband and father, devoted to his home. His death so early in life comes as a terrible blow to the widow and small children, who are deprived of the love, devotion and care of a husband and father. The community extends to them and to the other survivors the deepest sympathy in their irreparable loss.
