Read More	Wenatchee World - Mar. 7, 2013 Emanuel "Beeze" Besel September 2, 1919 ~ March 1, 2013 Emanuel "Beeze" Besel, 93, a longtime resident of the Wenatchee area, passed away Friday morning, March 1, 2013. Emanuel was born September 2, 1919, to George and Marie Besel in Farmer. After the passing of his father in 1935, the family moved to Waterville. He graduated from Waterville High School in 1938. He was employed by Carl Daling in Douglas as a tractor mechanic and driver. He enlisted in the Army in 1942, and was an anti-aircraft gunner of the Ninth Air Force Service Command in France. He received the Good Conduct Medal and the Europe African Mid East Theater Campaign Ribbon with two Battle Stars (Rhineland, Central Europe) for his service in World War ll. He married Lucile Beardslee in Almira in 1953. He worked as a carpenter, helping to build area bridges, dams and homes, working in construction for many years. In 2004, he was honored, along with other World War II Veterans, during Apple Blossom and received the Jubilee of Liberty Medal from Congressman Nethercutt. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in East Wenatchee and a member of the East Wenatchee Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary #3617. He is survived by his sister, Helen Grande; three grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; two brothers; three sisters; two stepsons; and a grandson. Beeze was always good-natured. He laughed quickly, loved often. His attitude was upbeat and whether life was good, hard or even unfair, he always had a smile on his face. He is loved and will be greatly missed. We appreciate and are thankful for the care he received and the friends he made at East Wenatchee Assisted Living, especially Larry and Ed; he was cared for well and respectfully and we are so grateful. Many thanks also for Central Washington Hospital Hospice. Your care and attention was wonderful. Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1050 Eastmont Avenue. Donations may be made to Our Savior's Lutheran Church, CWH Hospice, or East Wenatchee VFW Post # 3617. Please express your thoughts and memories on the online guestbook at jonesjonesbetts.com.
