Ireland died this morning at 11:40 o’clock at the Jefferson county hospitlal following an operation for appendicitis. Death was caused by peritonitis. Mr. Ireland was born September 25, 1887 in Locust Grove township near Brookville. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Ireland. His mother died four years ago. Mr. Ireland was born September 25, 1887 in Locust Grove township near Brookville. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Ireland. His mother died four years ago. He has made his home for the past several years with his sister, Mrs. Guy Baker, 1-2 mile north of the city. Besides this sister he leaves four others, Mrs. Carl Adams of Keokuk, Mrs. Ruby Patterson of Keokuk, Mrs. Nellie Anderson of Ottumwa and Mrs. Lillian Bradfield of Birmingham, also four brother are left, Charles, Rollin and Fred of this city and Frank of Abingdon. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:30 oclock (sic) from the Methodist church in charge of Dr. C. L. Tennant. IRELAND Emery Alexander, third son of Ernest Wilbur and Belle Ireland, was born in Locust Grove Township, Jefferson County, Iowa, on September 25, 1887, and departed this life at Fairfield, Iowa, on February 28, 1925, being at the time of his death aged 37 years, 5 months and 3 days. Mr. Ireland attended the common schools of this country, and has always been by occupation a farmer, having spent practically all his life in the northwestern part of Jefferson County and in and around Fairfield. He was a sober, industrious and reliable young man, and will be sadly missed by a host of relatives and friends. He is survived by his father, Ernest Wilbur Ireland and by four brothers and five sisters, as follows: Rollin J. Ireland, Charles W. Ireland and Fred L. Ireland all of this city, and Frank H. Ireland of Packwood, and by the following sisters, Mrs. Guy G. Baker of Fairfield, Mrs. Nellie Anderson of Ottumwa, Mrs. F. J. Bradfield of Birmingham, Mrs. H. M. Patterson and Mrs. Carl Adams, both of Keokuk. Mr. Ireland was a soldier in the World War, and was a member of the American Legion of this city.
