Description	:	Emil Andrew Dubas, 85, of Fullerton, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017, at his home with family by his side. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Fullerton with Reverend Richard Whiteing officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Fullerton. Visitation will be Monday, April 10th from 4-7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary and scripture service at the church. Palmer-Santin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Emil was born May 28, 1931 to Frank and Frances (Szewczyk) Dubas in rural Nance County by North Star. He was the 6th of 13 children. He attended Sunflower country school and Mount Zion country school. He then worked on the family farm. On November 25, 1953, he was united in marriage to Kathryn Pedersen in Wolbach. To this union, six children were born. They made their home on the family farm. He farmed and ranched in western Nance County his entire life. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He was also on the Farmers Coop Board and Loup Ferry Township Board. He was a coach for the Fullerton Boxing Club. He absolutely loved antiques. He collected antique tractors and bells. He was proud to say he had collected multiple sizes of church and school bell. He enjoyed going to farm auctions. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved going to their sporting events. He was a master of giving everyone nicknames. He will be greatly missed by his family. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn of Fullerton; children, Ron (Annette) Dubas of Fullerton, Susan (Tom) Steenson of Wolbach, Arlene (Ken) Shotkoski of Fullerton, Kris Newquist and special friend, Jeff Schneider of Aurora, and Andy Dubas of Bellevue; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Daniel (Betsy) Dubas of Columbus; sisters, Leona Kozak of Columbus and Anne Bialas of Fullerton; sisters-in-law, Mildred and Florence Dubas of Fullerton, Phyllis and Marge Dubas of Columbus, and Bonnie Dubas of Grand Island; sisters-in-law, Shirley (Ed) Lanka and Lola Sperling of St. Paul and Loraine (George) Wozniak of Evans, CO; and brother-in-law, Clayton (Geraldine) Pedersen of St. Paul. He is preceded in death by his son, David; his parents; brothers, Leo (Minnie) Dubas, Steve Dubas, Frank Dubas, Edwin (JoAnn) Dubas, Al Dubas, Lou Dubas, Larry Dubas; sister, Jeanette (Ron) Urkoski; and brother-in-law, Louie Bialas; sister-in-law, Joan (Marvin) Christensen and Phyllis (Otto) Gebhardt; brothers-in-law, Tuffy Beed and Melvin Sperling. Memorials are suggested to the family for designation at a later date.
