Description	:	Lawrence “Larry” E. Dubas, 71, of Grand Island died Monday, March 6, 2017, at CHI Health St. Francis. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Cathedral. The Rev. James Golka will be the celebrant. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in the Fullerton Cemetery. All Faiths Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Dubas was born Aug. 28, 1945, at Palmer, the son of Frank and Frances (Szewczyk) Dubas. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Bonnie; their children, Kendall (Harmaleigh) Dubas of Imperial, Brad (Krystal) Dubas of Grand Island, Jennifer (Jason) McCormick of Grand Island and Rick (Erin) Dubas of Grand Island; grandchildren, Hannaleigh, Peyton, Cody, Austin, Gage, Hunter, Hayden and GraceLynn; brothers, Emil (Kathy) Dubas of Palmer and Daniel (Betsy) Dubas of Columbus; sisters, Anne Bialas of Fullerton and Leona Kozak of Columbus; and sisters-in-law, Mildred Dubas and Florence Dubas, both of Fullerton, Phyllis Dubas and Marge Dubas, both of Columbus, and Darlene (Gary) Elstermeier and Annette (Delane) Elstermeier, both of Grand Island. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Helen, Leo, Edwin, Frank, Al, Steve, Jeanette and Lou; sisters-in-law, Minnie Dubas and JoAnn Dubas; and brothers-in-law, Louie Bialas and Al Kozak. Larry graduated from Fullerton High School with the Class of 1963. He served in the United States Army. On May 29, 1971, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Ziemba at Columbus. They made Grand Island their home in 1975. Larry worked for the City of Grand Island Electrical Department and then retired from Mead Lumber Co. in 2015. He was a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral. Larry was an avid hunter, enjoyed gardening and toy tractor collecting. Most of all, he enjoyed time spent with his grandkids and family.
