Liedtke was born in Germany on August 1, 1876, and departed this life on February 27, 1937, after four months illness. At the time of his death, his age was 60 years, 5 months and 26 days. Liedtke was born in Germany on August 1, 1876, and departed this life on February 27, 1937, after four months illness. At the time of his death, his age was 60 years, 5 months and 26 days. Mr. Liedtke came to this country with his parents at the age of seven. The family settled in Chicago, where he grew to manhood, coming to Glasco when he was 19 years of age. On November 24, 1898, he married Elizabeth Ann Grittman, and the union was blessed with eight children, all of whom are still living. Soon after his marriage, Mr. Liedtke purchased the farm north-east of Glasco which continued to be his home for nearly thirty-five years. His wife preceded him in death on January 28, 1929. In 1932 Mr. Liedtke married Elizabeth Mahoney, who survives his passing. The last four years of his life were lived in Kansas City, Missouri. Baptized in infancy, Mr. Liedtke was a life-ling member of the Lutheran Church, and has for many years been a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Glasco. He was faithful in his confession, and taught his children to fear and love God. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, three sons, Gustave Edward, Emil Carl, and Raymond John, all of Glasco; five daughters, Mrs. Alma Libben of Glasco; Mrs. Clara Irvene and Mrs. Mildred Hurtig of Delphos; Mrs. Ella Larsen and Mrs. Margaret Lunblade of Jamestown; one brother, Gustave, of Chicago, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Edna Breckenfelter of Pittsburg, Penn.; five grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. George L. Search at the Lutheran Church Thursday afternoon, March 4. Burial was made in the Glasco Cemetery with Lott & Stine as funeral directors.
