Description	:	Emily Frances Casburn, daughter of Harold and Clara Casburn, was born August 20, 1909, near Fairmont. She passed away January 16, 1949, at Geneva, at the age of 39 years, 4 months and 27 days. At the tender age of fourteen months, her mother was called to her heavenly home and for a short time, Emily made her home with an aunt. Later the father re-married, thus reuniting the family. Read More	Emily Frances Casburn, daughter of Harold and Clara Casburn, was born August 20, 1909, near Fairmont. She passed away January 16, 1949, at Geneva, at the age of 39 years, 4 months and 27 days. At the tender age of fourteen months, her mother was called to her heavenly home and for a short time, Emily made her home with an aunt. Later the father re-married, thus reuniting the family. All but fourteen years of her life were spent in Fillmore county Two years were spent at Aurora, Colo., and twelve years near Ulysses. Her education was received in public schools near Ulysses. She was united in marriage to Walter E. McKibben, December 15, 1939. To this union was born one daughter, Evelyn, aged eight. Mrs. McKibben was a kind and loving wife and mother and was respected by all who knew her. She was a woman of great understanding, never forgetting to pass along a little gift or card to relatives and friends on birthdays and all anniversaries. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and give a word of good cheer. In her youth she was a member of the Congregational church. April 9, 1939, she united with the Geneva Methodist church, of which she remained a faithful member, being seldom absent from the services. Those left to mourn her death are her husband, Walter E. McKibben, a daughter, Evelyn Lucille; two step-daughters, Mrs. Grace Lefler of Fairmont and Mrs. Dorothy Dondlinger of Lincoln; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Casburn of Geneva; one sister, Mrs. Grace (Fred) Stofer of Geneva; one brother, Kenneth Casburn of McCool; three half-sisters, Mrs. Barbara Dailey and Mrs. Peggy Waltemade of Geneva and Mrs. Roberta Braden of Crete; a step-sister, Mrs. Mildred Sole of Geneva; several nephews and nieces and a host of friends. Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Dean. Funeral services were conducted from the Geneva Methodist church Wednesday afternoon, January 19, Rev. Ben F. Wallace officiating. Mrs. H.A. Rosenau, accompanied by Florence Humphrey at the organ, sang, "In the Land Where We Never Grow Old," "The Beautiful Garden of Prayer" and "No Night There." Pallbearers were Richard A. Smith Sr., Richard A. Smith Jr., John A Anderson, Jr., Orville Dunkin, Wayne J. Winchell and Louis Stofer. Interment was in the Fairmont cemetery.
