Casburn and Amoret Garrett Casburn on September 16, 1916, and passed away February 4, 2006, at Fairview Manor in Fairmont, Nebraska at the age of 89 years, four months and 19 days. PEGGY--Margaret D. Peggy Waltemade was born to Harold H. Casburn and Amoret Garrett Casburn on September 16, 1916, and passed away February 4, 2006, at Fairview Manor in Fairmont, Nebraska at the age of 89 years, four months and 19 days. She was one of seven children in the family. Peggy was born in Burress. The family moved to Colorado for a short period of time. They returned to Ulysses where she attended school through the 10th grade in Seward County. She then moved to Geneva and graduated from Geneva High School in 1935. Peggy married Eric E. Waltemade on November 25, 1938 in Hastings. They lived in Geneva, where they owned and operated Eric’s Café. After retirement from the café in 1971, Peggy went to work for the State until 1976, when she fully retired. Peggy was active in the United Methodist church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She loved to travel, and New York, San Francisco and Canada, were among her favorite places to visit. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Eric, her parents and six siblings. She is survived by her sister, Roberta (Bobbie) Braden and by 8 nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted from the Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva on Wednesday, February 8th, with Rev. Ron Harris officiating. Musical selections for the service were “The Old Rugged Cross” and “How Great Thou Art”. Casket bearers were John, Jim and Scott Braden, Len Vogel, Buzz Sole and Mel Whitley.
