Description	:	DAILEY, BARBARA C.—Barbara C. Dailey was born to Harold Casburn and Amoret Garrett Casburn on Dec. 1, 1914, at Burress. She passed away on Dec. 20, 2000, at the Fairview Manor in Fairmont at the age of 86 years and 19 days. She was one of seven children in the family. At a young age, Barbara and her family moved to Colorado until returning to Ulysses to farm. She attended country school in Ulysses until moving to Geneva where she lived with her half-sister, Mildred Sole, until she graduated from Geneva Public High School in 1934. She passed away on Dec. 20, 2000, at the Fairview Manor in Fairmont at the age of 86 years and 19 days. She was one of seven children in the family. At a young age, Barbara and her family moved to Colorado until returning to Ulysses to farm. She attended country school in Ulysses until moving to Geneva where she lived with her half-sister, Mildred Sole, until she graduated from Geneva Public High School in 1934. She met and later married Claire Dailey of Lincoln on Sept. 12, 1943, and to them one son was born. Barbara worked at the Lechtenberger Dairy and was also employed at the Girls Training School, now known as the Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center. She resigned her position to work at Koehler Hatchery until the hatchery closed. She returned to YRTC until her retirement. She enjoyed retirement by attending auctions, sewing and making dolls, gardening and traveling. Until just this past year she always managed to care for a large garden, canning the produce each fall. The small farm on which she lived contained a variety of animals from cattle, wild turkeys, peacocks, sheep and the usual dog. Most all of Barbara’s animals managed to become family pets. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Amoret Casburn; by half-brother, Kenneth Casburn; by half-sisters, Emily McKibben, Grace Stofer and Mildred Sole. She is survived by her son, Joe Dailey and wife, Dianne; granddaughters, Sara Leick and Martha Kilgore and two great-grandsons; by sisters, Roberta Braden and Peggy Waltemade. Graveside services were conducted Dec. 22, 2000, at the Geneva Public Cemetery with Rev. Brian Kottas officiating. The Nebraska Signal January 10th,2001 page 9.
