Description	:	CASBURN, HAROLD HENRY—Harold Henry Casburn, son of Lofts and Harriett Dean Casburn, was born August 31, 1875, in St. Ives, Huntingdonshire, England. He passed away May 12, 1952 at St. Elizabeth hospital in Lincoln, Neb., at the age of 76 years, 8 months and 12 days. In January, 1877, his mother died and a short time later the father married Sarah Pate. With the family reunited, they decided to make their home in America, settling near Milton, Ill., November, 1879. September 8, 1884, they moved to a farm near Fairmont, Neb., where Harold received his education and where he grew to manhood. July 5, 1898, he was married to Clara A. Millner and for a short time lived in Milton, Ill., later moving to a farm near Fairmont. To this union were born four children, Harry Dean, who died in infancy, Grace, Kenneth and Emily. Mrs. Casburn passed away, leaving Harold with the three small children. June 5, 1918, he was married to Mrs. Amoret Heath and to this union were born three daughters, Barbara, Margaret (Peggy), and Roberta. He continued farming near Fairmont until September, 1918, when the family moved to Aurora, Col. Two years later they moved back to Nebraska, settling on a farm near Ulysses. In February, 1945, they moved to Geneva, where he spent the remainder of his life. Mr. Casburn was a Christian man, being baptized in infancy. He had been a member of the Presbyterian church in Fairmont, and a member of the O. O. O. F. lodge at Ulysses. He was a kind and loving husband and father and was respected by all who knew him. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and to give a good work of cheer. Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Amoret, four daughters, Grace (Mrs. Fred Stofer), Barbara Dailey, Peggy (Mrs. Eric Watemade), all of Geneva, Roberta (Mrs. Raymond Braden) of Crete, one son, Kenneth of McCool, one step-daughter, Mrs. Mildred Sole of Geneva, 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives and friends. Besides his mother, wife and son, he was preceded in death by his father in 1925 and a daughter Mrs. Emily McKibben in 1949, also two brothers who died in infancy. Funeral services were held at the Kritner chapel May 16, at 2 p. m. with Rev. J. M. Ruthven officiating. Oliver Moul of Fairmont sang "Going Down the Valley," "One Sweetly Solemn Thought," and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye." Mrs. Willard Foster was the accompanist. The O. O. O. F. was in charge at the grave. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal May 22nd, 1952 page 1.
