Emma Bellcock was born in Canada, near Montreal July 15, 1845, and at the time of her death was 74 years, 8 months and 16 days old, She moved to Vermont with her parents about the year of 1865 Came to Clayton County, Iowa, and settled at Luana, in 1885. From there they came to Greene Co, living on a farm west of Churdan for many years, and about seventeen years ago they moved to Farnhamville. She was rnarried to Thomas Green, February 25, 1874. He preceded her in death in 1911. Seven children were born to this union, two of whom died in infancy. Those who survive are Dr. W.H. Green, Mrs. Geo. Cutshall, Mrs. A. A. Hoyle, Mrs. John Cutshall, and Mrs. William Cutshall. She also leaves one brother, James Bellcock of Fort Dodge, and one sister, Mary Bellcock, who made her home with Mrs. Green. There are eighteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. Mrs. Green was converted and joined the Methodist Church when quite young and lived a consecrated Christian life. She had been an invalid for about three years and confined to her chair most of the time. She passed away Tuesday evening, April 1st, at seven o'clock, at her home in Farnhamville, and the remains were brought to Churdan Friday morning where the funeral services were held in the Methodist Church, conducted by her former pastor, Rev. Cole, of Otho, Iowa, who preached a splendid sermon, using for his subject, "She is not dead but asleep." A quartet furnished the music. The remains were laid to rest in the Churdan Cemetery by the side of her departed husband. The Reporter joins with the host of good friends in extending sympathy to the bereaved children and other relatives. Card of Thanks.
