Description	:	Thomas Green Passed Away Died at his home in Farnhamville, June 23rd at 7:20 A. M, Thomas Green, aged sixty-three years. He was born in Linconshire, England, Feb. 14, 1848, coming to America at the age of twenty. In 1871, he married Emma Rollinson, who lived a little less than a year. Those who are left behind to... Read More	Thomas Green Passed Away Died at his home in Farnhamville, June 23rd at 7:20 A. M, Thomas Green, aged sixty-three years. He was born in Linconshire, England, Feb. 14, 1848, coming to America at the age of twenty. In 1871, he married Emma Rollinson, who lived a little less than a year. To this union one child was born, who died at the age of thirteen months. In 1874 be was married the second time to Emma Bellcock. To this union was born seven children, two dying in infancy. Those who are left behind to mourn his departure are William Henry Green, of Farnhamville, Susie Cutshall, of Van Meter, Iowa, Liza Ann Hoyle of Churdan, Ida May Cutshall of Booneville, Iowa, Maude Green of Farnhamville, and his wife. He also leaves six sisters living in England and one brother who resides in Kansas. He has been a member of the Methodist church many years and has at different times held such offices a class leader, Steward and Trustee. He was a man of excellent habits, fine moral character, and sturdy constitution. There was a daily beauty about his life which won the hearts of his friends. In temperament, he was mild, conciliatory, and candid, and yet remarkable for an uncompromising firmness, He believed in the fatherhood of God and brotherhood of man. He believed that the man who scattered flowers in the pathway of his fellowmen, who lets into dark places of life the sunshine of human sympathy and human kindness is following in the footsteps of his master. His last days were full of suffering as he had cancer of the stomach. Friends and loved ones tried to make his last days peaceful as possible. Few of us will live as long or as well and fewer yet will the angel of death greet, with such a loving touch. The funeral of the deceased was held in Farnhamville Monday at 10:30 and the remains laid to rest in the Churdan cemetery to await the final summons, Information and research provided by Martha Reed at [email protected]
