Read More	Stratford Courier October 4, 1934 Emma Christine Lindquist, daughter of Marie and John Lindquist, was born in Moline, Ill., March 13, 1873. She died in her home here on Friday evening, Sept. 28, 1934, at the age of 61 years, 6 months, 15 days, following a cerebral hemmorage. She had been paralyzed and in a coma for five weeks. She came to a farm near Stanhope with her parents when seven years old and had since lived in the community. She was united in marriage in 1898 to C. J. E. Carlson of near Stanhope and for a number of years lived on a farm near that town. Six years ago they retired from active farming and moved into Stratford where they have since resided. Mrs. Carlson was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in her youth and had since been a faithful member of that church. She is survived by her husband and five children. They are, Archie Carlson of Stratford, Ferman of Stanhope, Mrs. Marie Rexroat of Woolstock, Pearl and Estelle at home. Five sisters and one brother also survive. They are: Mrs. Johnnie Iverson of Stanhope, Mrs. E.H. Metcalf of Reeder, North Dakota, Mrs. Axel Olson, Misses Nora and Hilma Lindquist, all of Stratford. There are eight grandchildren. She will be missed by many friends and her faithful attendance in church will be greatly missed. The funeral services were conducted Sunday, Sept. 30, by her pastor, the Rev. Anton Chell, in the Stratford Lutheran Church, preceded with a brief service in the family home. Revelations 7:9-17 was used for the sermon text and a quartet composed of Mrs. Martin Hall, Miss Hazel Barquist, Gust and Alfred Erickson, sang three songs, being accompanied by Miss Ellen Anderson. At the service in the home the pastor read John 14:1-14 and the hymn, "There's a Land That is Fairer Than Day," was sung by the lady members of the quartet. Interment was made in the South Marion Cemetery. The pallbearers were Carl and Emanuel Lindquist, Rudolph and Henry Gustafson, Arvid Sealine and Elmer Berggren. Among those from out of town attending the funeral services were: Mr. and Mrs. Will I. Williams of Vinton; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Harris and Mrs. E.H. Metcalf of Reeder, North Dakota; Mrs. C.A. Swanson, Ethel Swanson and Mrs. O.E. Ellington, all of Webster City.
