Read More	The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, January 21, 1943 Mrs. Jackson DeHart living about nine miles north and west of Nelson suffered a stroke of paralysis Saturday and died Monday at the age of 75 years. ============================== The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, January 28, 1943 Emma Phillips was born in Morrison, Illinois on July 4, 1867, and passed away at her home in Nuckolls County, Nebraska, Monday morning, January 18, 1943, at the age of 75 years, 6 months and 14 days. She came to Nuckolls County in 1886, and was united in marriage to Jackson DeHart, October 1, 1893, who preceded her in death one month and seven days. To this union five children were born: Mrs. Alta Seefield who has also preceded her in death, Lillie, Jack and Ralph of Deweese, and Frank of Nelson. Mrs. DeHart bore her affliction with patience and fortitude. She had been in failing health for some time and gradually declined until death released her from the power of disease of pain, and opened for her the door, into that house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens prepared for all those who love and serve the Lord and most of all mankind. She was a faithful wife, a loving Mother, and a kind friend and neighbor. As such she will be greatly missed. She leaves to mourn her passing, four children, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a host of friends and other relatives. She is our Darling Mother, she has taught us how to love. Now she has gone on and left us, on to her home above. She taught us to live so when called to go, To the land that is always fair. We should live so our steps would lead us above, For our Mother is waiting there. Her hands that were always doing kind things, Will be outstretched to us when the great bell rings, To call us home to the land so fair, Beautiful home, Mother is there. The funeral was conducted from the U.B. Church north of Nelson, with the Rev. C.M. Foust in charge of the service. Interment was in the Nelson cemetery (sic). CARD OF THANKS To the friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted us during the illness and death of our loved one, we extend our grateful and sincere thanks. The DeHart Family.
