DeHart, one of five children of Jack and Emma (Phillips) DeHart, was born on a farm near Deweese, Nebraska, on November 2, 1900, and passed away August 28, 1989, at Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior at the age of 88 years. He attended Shiloh rural school, north of Nelson, through the eighth grade and attended Junior College in Nelson for a year. On October 26, 1921, in Nelson, he was united in marriage to May Pearl Alspaw. They lived and farmed near Nelson for many years. Frank was a member of the Nelson Community Church of Christ in Nelson at the time of his death. He was a good neighbor, always willing to help where he was needed. He loved dogs and horses and always had a stud horse around and raised many colts, as well as broke horses to ride. He was an avid coon and coyote hunter and loved all kinds of hunting and fishing. A favorite hobby was working on and with steam engines. Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Jack and Ralph; and two sisters, Alta Seefeld and Lillie DeHart. Survivors include his wife of the home in Superior; a niece, Gretchen White of Superior; three nephews, Jack DeHart of Deweese and Merle and Homer Seefeld, both of Nelson. Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 30, 1989, at 2 p.m. from the Nelson Community United Church of Christ with the Rev. Royce Buchtel and Pastor Ken Fairbrother officiating. Music was provided by organist, Myrtle Worley, playing "How Great Thou Art". Casketbearers were: Tom Wilson, Milton "Bud" Ferebee, Allan Sole, Gary Blevins, Mick White and Jerry Drohman.
