He died at his home (in Liberty precinct, Nuckolls county, Nebraska) Friday morning, December 11, 1942, at the age of 92 years and 11 days. Read More	The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, December 24, 1942 Jackson DeHart was born in Johnson county (sic), Indiana, December 1, 1850. He died at his home (in Liberty precinct, Nuckolls county, Nebraska) Friday morning, December 11, 1942, at the age of 92 years and 11 days. His childhood and early manhood were spent at the place of his birth in Indiana. In 1886 he married Margaret Buchanan and two children were born to them - one son Orlando who preceded him in death, and one daughter, Claudia Smith of Denver, Colorado. On April 2, 1889, he came to Nebraska, and on October 1, 1893, he was united in marriage to Emma Phillips. To this union were born five children: Mrs. Alta Seefield who has preceded him in death, Lillie, Jack and Ralph of Deweese, and Frank of Nelson. Mr. DeHart was a member of the church since a boy. His memory will linger for all time with those who knew his splendid life and Christian spirit. May the example of his life so influence our lives that we may live again the many virtues manifested in his, and come to the end so calmly and bravely as did he. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, five children, nine grand children, ten great grandchildren, two sisters and a host of friends and other relatives. A place is vacant in the home - a body sleeps beneath the sod.
