Elder James Robinson, of Lacona, conducted the services. The pall bearers were boys from the Norwood high school. Emory James Curtis, youngest son of Clark E. and Blanche Curtis, was born August 16, 1922, and passed away at the Yocom hospital in Chariton, Sunday evening, November 27, 1938, aged 16 years, 3 months and 11 days. He spent his entire life on the farm where he was born, finishing the eighth grade at the Union school. He entered high school at Norwood in September, 1936. During his high school career he was always a leader in his class, both scholastically and socially. His cheerful disposition endeared him to all who knew him, and he was everybody's friend. Besides his father and mother, he leaves two sisters, Angie Conrad, of Lucas, Iowa, and Gladys, a teacher in the Lacona school, also three brothers, Cyril, of near Russell, Bill, of Lucas, and Homer, who is attending school in Lincoln, Nebr. His grandmother, Mrs. William Curtis, also survives him, along with many other relatives and friends. Obituary courtesy of Charles M. Wright
