Read More	HOLD RITES FOR ESTEEMED UNION COUNTY PIONEER Mrs. Erika Swanson Had Resided In This Area Many Years Mention was briefly made in these columns last week of the death of an esteemed pioneer of this vicinity Mrs. Erika Swanson, who passed away Wednesday morning, October 14, at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs; Jos. Lambert, northwest of town, after an extended illness, at the advanced age of 94 years, 8 months and 14 days. Mrs. Swanson was born January 30, 1865, at Westerbotten, Sweden and came to the United States in 1887. On January 7, 1888, she was married to Peter Swanson at Elk Point, S.D. Two daughters and one son were born to this union. They farmed west of Akron in Union county until 1918, when they retired and moved to town. Mr. Swanson died here in 1926. Survivors include two daughters Mrs. Elna Lambert, of Akron, and Mrs. Ruth Wallen, of Bellingham Wash.; a son, Roy Swanson, of Hawarden, Iowa; three grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Swanson was a member of the Union Creek Lutheran church where funeral services were held Friday afternoon, Rev. David J. Roy officiating. Mrs. Victor Clark was Soloist and Mrs. Henry Fickbohm was organist. Pallbearers were Andrew Bredall, Henry Fickbohm, Albert Anderson, Eddie Anderson, John Frisk and Alve Ericson.
