Born in Gloucester, Mrs. Roane attended the College of William and Mary and for 34 years acted as assistant to her late husband, the Rev. Henley Roane, who served eight Methodist charges in the Virginia conference. She was a member of Singleton United Methodist Church at Schley and its United Methodist Women and its Willing Workers Class and served as assistant organist of the church. Survivors include three brothers, Edward J., Claude C., and C. Herbert Brown, all of Schley. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Singleton United Methodist Church by the Rev. John Crawford and the Rev. Martin Diggs. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight in Andrews-Faulkner Funeral Home, Gloucester, and requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the building fund of Singleton United Methodist Church.
