Glotfelt, 76, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Lutheran Church. The Rev. Keith Lingwall will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be be from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening at the Raymond Funeral Home. Glotfelty was stricken by a fatal heart attack about 9:30 a.m. Thursday at his home, 309 E. Broadway, and was pronounced dead when the ambulance arrived at the hospital. Glotfelty spent his entire (sic. life) in Jefferson County and moved to Fairfield in 1970 after retiring from the farm. He had been employed by the City of Fairfield for 12 years as custodian of the portable school stop signs placed at intersections to protect school children going to and returning home from school. Ernest Carl Glotfelty was born March 17, 1906, in Jefferson County, the son of Walter and Frances Whiston Glotfelty. He farmed near Salina for a number of years. He was married March 12, 1938, at Keosauqua to Letha K. Boos who survives. Survivors include two sons, Ronald, Fairfield, and Richard, Kansas City; and a sister, Margaret Bumgardner, Fairfield. Glotfelty was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church.
