Description	:	Ernest Edward Blazek, son of Edward F. and Estella Nellie Kralik Blazek, was born December, 31, 1914 in Colony Township, Adams County, Iowa and passed away at his home October 3, 1977, at the age of 62 years, 9 months and 2 days. He was united in marriage to Lola Maye Woodside May 15, 1937. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Ethel and an infant son, Edward Wilburn. Survivors are: his wife, Lola; three children, Sharon Walter and husband Larry, Joyce Green and husband, Jon, all of Prescott; Richard E. and wife Deborah of Corning; four grandchildren, Robert, Anita and Estee Walter and Tonya Green; one sister, Gladys Nelson and husband Charles of Orient; his parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Woodside; brothers-in law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He spent his entire life at his farm home where he and his wife celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary last May. He was a member of the WBFA Lodge, had actively served his community as director of the Prescott school board, FHA, Nevinville Telephone Co., Fontanelle Lumber Co., Fontanelle Coop., township trustee and Adams County Tax Review Board. He was a representative of Pioneer Seed Corn Co. for twenty years His mother died when he was 15 years of age and his father a year later. He started farming when he was 16 and with the encouragement of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Blazek, has farmed every succeeding year until the last year when his health failed. Ernie was a loyal friend, a dependable neighbor, willing to help in time of need, a loving husband and father, had the same regard for his in-laws as for his good relatives. His greatest enjoyment was the love of his grandchildren. He took an active interest in education and other improvements and was especially loyal to his country's veterans. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services were held at the Coen Funeral Home in Creston, October 6 at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. William Pula officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. David Westley, organist, and Philip Britten, soloist. Flower bearers were Mrs. Forman Kelly, Mrs. Dale Reed, Mrs. Paul Johnson and Mildred Inlow. Pallbearers were Dale Reed, Howard Palma, Paul Johnson, Bob Ferguson, Don Inlow and Steve Kralik. Honorary bearers were Julias Hofmeiater, George Williamson, Duane Murphy, Barton Gillispie, LeRoy Ruch, Carroll Robinson, Cecil Antisdel, Verle Wynn, Stanley Bloom and Von Taylor. Burial was in the Bohemian National cemetery at Williamson.
